Boswell Williams - Featured Artist for February Boswell Williams, a native of Jamaica, is our featured artist for February 2009. Boswell's

"My mission is to provide a new perspective of Art without artistic bias t the art lovers of the world"

Boswell Williams' works will be on exhibit in the Featured Artist room for the Month of February. Williams is a native of Jamaica and came to the states in 1991. He has exhibited in, to name a few, Philadelphia, PA, Sionna Visions Art Gallery in Plainfield NJ and in Miami, FL.

He was featured in the Tribes Magazine in December/January and April/May issues.

"Some of my early influences came from Artists like Edna Manley (Wife of late Prime Minister Norman Manley) and other local artists."

The mediums he mostly used were ink, oil paint, graphite and water color, but he favor's oil over the others and it shows in the rich golds, reds, browns, and the vivid blues and yellows he uses in his paintings.

Exhibit opens February 1st and runs till February 27th.

Beginning Painting in Oils or Acrylic 6 weeks
Students will explore their creativity in a safe, supportive atmosphere.This course introduces the fundamentals of painting and covers painting materials, techniques, and approaches to working in either acrylic or oils. Instructor will cover color mixing and composition using various subjects.
Fee: $90
Dates: Mondays, Jan 19 - Feb 23 Time: 7-9pm Adults 16+

Intermediate Painting 6 weeks
Open to individuals with prior painting experience, Students are encouraged to think critically about their paintings as they begin to define a personal artistic vision. Through painting exercises, students will expand their creativity and knowledge of color theory while exploring new subject areas. Students can opt to work on independent projects or can follow specific assignments.
Fee: $90
Dates: Mondays, Jan 19 - Feb 23 Time: 7-9pm Adults 16+

$2.00 Meetup fee $3.00 supply fee for Workshop participation.

Leader will give a demo on texture media, then turn you loose to have fun with patching plaster, modeling paste, sand, rocks, etc. If you have it, bring your preferred media and painting surfaces to experiment. We will have some sample boards available.

OR .as always. we encourage you to bring your current creative project and work the night away.
