Larry Moore - Artist

I was reading the April 2008 issue of The Artist’s magazine and saw Larry’s name and wondered if it was the same Larry Moore I knew. It was! He will be conducting a workshop at the Bravura Academy in Southern Spain June 15th-21st.

He is also conducting a workshop in Cortona, Italy April 5 - 12 2008

Larry was my instructor for Illustrating and Creative Thinking in Orlando, FL.

If you are interested in traveling to Spain for a vacation and would like to take in a workshop, check out the Bravura Academy for a list of workshops at http://www.BravuraAcademy.com or the April 2008 issue of The Artist Magazine.

If you are traveling to Italy in April and would like to take in Larry’s workshop you can get more information here—> http://hometown.aol.com/infotuscany/TAWcalendar.html

Fabian Perez - Artist

I love pastels paintings - and working with them - and Degas is one of my favorite pastelist. I thought I could pick out a pastel painting in a book or magazine, but this time I was wrong.

When I saw one of Fabian’s paintings in print, I could have sworn it was a pastel. I visited his website - http://www.fabianperez.com/ - and read his bio and I was wrong. It say’s he works in Acrylics.

Amazing! Some of the brush strokes in the painting I was looking at - this one  http://www.fabianperez.com/shows.html - led me to believe that he used pastels. I would love to see his paintings in person. He will be at the Art Expo in New York, but I don’t think I can go to that.

I did find a Gallery in Chapel Hill, NC that has his work, http://www.studio91fineart.com/interior/contact.html

Road Trip!

Art Without Boundaries

If you are an Artist and are interested in helping improve the quality of life for those with Autism, Alzheimer’s disease and other related brain disorders through Mneme Therapy, please visit
http://www.artwithoutboundaries.org/

How is it different from Art Therapy?

“Art therapy is a valuable service that uses psychological means to achieve its goals. MnemeTherapy uses every day pleasures like singing, movement, painting, and story-telling, in a unique combination to stimulate a natural process in the brain called neuroplasticity.  MT can be used with any stage or type of dementia, cognitive impairment or disability, including blindness. We have only one criteria and that is willingness to participate.”

I Got the Bug!

Nothing like getting the flu to put a damper on things. After telling a friend that I haven’t been sick in two years, well I spoke to soon. It hit me on Wednesday and now it has me down. So, not getting much done.

But we are still targeting for March 31st to have the galleries done. It feels like we haven’t made much progress, but we are making headway.

Our plans for “Our Green Earth” Paint it Green and Keep it Clean event are in the final stages and should be a great day for all. I will post the final plans later this week.

Hope everyone stays healthy.

Have a great week!
